Multiple benefits and the Efficiency First principle

Capturing the multiple benefits of energy efficiency that go beyond purely economic ones, evaluating and communicating them is key, especially to mobilise and motivate companies to invest. The “efficiency first principle”, also referred to as E1st, means taking utmost account of cost-efficient energy efficiency measures in shaping energy policy and making relevant investment decisions. IEECP follows legislative evolutions and supports Member States in the implementation at national level.
